TEH POCI

At first, i’m not a tea lover, i didn’t know so many variety of tea, people talk about. They often talk about Oolong tea (kind of Chinese tea) and some kind of Japanese tea. Everytime i went to restaurants or cafe, sometimes i order tea, but i really never notice / realize what kind of tea that was i ordered. I just drink it as a complement for my other foods menu. But recently, i don’t know why, i’m starting love it’s taste. I’m interesting on Teh poci and Chinese tea. This time i would write about Teh poci and my be write about Chinese tea later because there is so many things about Chinese tea i really want to find out.

Originally, teh poci comes from Tegal, Central Java, Indonesia. Tea drinking tradition in this place affected by chinese trader that ever lived there. The way of ‘poci’ (means teapot) and the glass made of clay is a chinese tradition in Ming Dinasty.

The existence of tea in Tegal, generally in Indonesia also cannot separated from dutch colonial era. They implemented Cultivation system or culturstelsel for the indigenous people. At that time, Dutch bring tea plantation to Indonesia and sell its high quality product in the Europe market. The indigenous people make tea from the low quality product.

That condition shaping Tegal people’s taste of tea, kind of bitter. But, later Teh poci mixed with jasmine flower to make it more enjoyable. And usually it served with sugar-shaped like a little stone as a sweetener.

Tegal’s people believes that the inside of teapot should never washed, just take out the tea remains. The more crust the more flavor the taste of the tea.

“PABOSURHON”, CEREMONY OF SEVEN MONTH PREGNANCY IN BATAK TRADITION

Batak tradition is one of the living tradition in Indonesia. There’s so many ethnics here, but batak is one of the strongest ethnic that still really stick to its culture and tradition such as Pabosurhon cerenomy and etc.

Pabosurhon means give food to seven month pregnant woman. The ‘hula-hula (parents of woman)’ and The ‘paranak(parents of man)’ do this ceremony to give strength for pregnant woman or the mom’s gonna be, so she can face the labor time with good healthy and no obstacle.

The hula-hula will give ‘ikan mas arsik (bataknese traditional food)’ to his daughter and son-in-law with pray to God for the good health and avoid from any danger. After that, the hula-hula also will give ‘ulos mula gabe (bataknese traditional clothes) as a symbol to cover and protect his daughter’s body and soul from devil. Beside that, ulos mula gabe also will give warmness and spirit to face the labor time.

The paranak will give ‘tudu-tudu ni sipanganon (bataknese traditional food)’ to the hula-hula and asking all the hula-hula to bless and pray for the pregnant woman to face labor time.

The parents and other family member will give advise and some word to encourage pregnant woman, so she will get an extra spirit and power to face labor time.

There’s some similar pabosurhon ceremony from other ethnics in Indonesia such as nyakik / makik / sengkelan ceremony from Dayak ethnic, tujuh bulanan ceremony from javanese ethnic, nujuh bulan ceremony from betawi ethnic.

For me, Pabosurhon ceremony held on 30 th January 2016 in my home sweet home. May God Bless Us all the time.

PRECIOUS GIFT FROM GOD

It’s an Amazing feeling to know that there’s a baby in my womb. I think one of the best moment for every women is pregnancy. It’s five months now. My husband also very happy, dad’s feeling. We are expecting a baby after our marriage. We ask to God through our prays. And praise God, for my pregnancy.

My life is changing, there’s not only me that i have to take care of, but my baby too. I must control my nutritions through eat healthy foods and some vitamins to fullfill the need of my self and my baby. There is also some food i should avoid to eat during my pregnancy such as raw meat, alcohol, caffeine, pineapple, sate, durian, and etc. Beside that, now i reduce travelling, especially travel to far destination that took so many hours.

I’ve got a lot of happiness during my pregnancy. Some memorable moment i still remember in my mind, i amaze when i heard my baby’s heartbeat and when i feel my baby’s movement. Sometimes i talk to my baby, i tell about our future plan for my baby. I didn’t realize i smile in my sleep because thinking of my baby. God Bless You, my baby.

‘KOI’ and ‘KOKI’

I love decorative fish, sometimes they’re are not only dancing in the aquarium but also in my mind. There is so many variety of decorative fish, and i have two as my favourite.

The first is Koi fish, i love its colour and i ever heard that Koi fish bring luck for anyone, believe it or not. I really want to have it on my own pond but because of limited space in my house so can’t make it real. One day, i travelled to Bali with my husband, during our vacation we saw a beautiful koi painting, then we bought that painting with a good price. I put it on one side of my house, so everyday i can see it. Hopefully, it will bring luck too for my family.

The second is Koki fish or goldfish, i love the colour and body shape, it has the sexiest stomach, lol. there is also so many variety of goldfish such as common goldfish, black telescope, bubble eye, celestial eye, comet, fantail, lion head, oranda, pearlscale, pompon, ryukin, shubunkin, telescope, ranchu, panda telescope, veiltail, butterfly tail, meteor goldfish, lionchu, egg-fish goldfish, shukin, curled-gill goldfish, tamasaba, tosakin and white telescop. i have few of them in my aquarium. Don’t feed them too often eventhough they always looks hungry. Overfeeding is not good for their health, so keep it balance.

‘KOI’ and ‘KOKI’, similar in world but totally different in size. And i love both of them.

LET'S JUMP HIGH

Traveling is good for our body, mind and soul. Enjoy the picturesque view, exhale fresh air, eat local food, see local culture/tradition and etc. That's make us forget our job/duty for a moment. Most of people do travelling to escape from work, so when they come back to the office, they will have new energy to face it. Sometimes life is like the battery, we need to charge it when it lowbat, but remember to unplug when it's full. :)

Traveling time is a best time to express our happy feelings. Don't shy to scream out or laugh out loud because no one recognize you there. It would be more fun if you can do jumping and make it as high as you can.

Let's jump high, 1-2-3 jump.. Haha... What a great experience.
